Project Rationale:
We are very interested in the possibilities and potential for online learning. At the same time, we are acutely aware, due to experience, that teachers for the most part, are still skeptical and hesitant to embark on this new road to education. With this in mind, we took online instruction, back to the beginning element of online communication.
Questions: Numerous questions arise from this matter. Here are a few we have tossed around.
What effects will classroom teacher websites have on communication between school and home?
Will the presence of online support and direction impact student success?
Further questions:
What support needs to be in place to ensure that teachers are capable of participating in the study?
What training must be provided prior to attempting the project?
What kind of web hosting is available?
Are there adequate opportunities to update sites on a regular basis?
What resources are available within the community to provide Internet access and a link to the instructional site?
How can language issues be addressed to provide equitable opportunity for use?
How might individual school district policies effect the ability to implement this project? Initial Resources:
